What Abode is
Abode is a student housing hub. It organizes housing options near your school, helps you find roommates and subleases, and links you to the original listing to apply. Abode does not own, manage, lease, or verify the properties listed, and is not a party to any lease or rental agreement.
Listings and other sites
Listings come from public listing pages, approved partners, and students at your school. Prices, availability, fees and lease terms change without notice. Always confirm them, and view official photos, on the original listing before applying or paying anything. Abode is not responsible for other sites or for what landlords, property managers or other students do.
Images
Each listing shows one image, labelled by where it comes from: the main photo from the original listing (loaded from the listing site and credited to it), a student-uploaded photo, or an Abode representative illustration when no photo is available. Photos can be out of date; view the original listing for current photos. Listing owners can ask us to remove a photo through Help & Support.
Posting a sublease or room
Only post a place you are allowed to sublease, with accurate rent and dates. Only upload photos you took or have permission to use; you confirm this before uploading. Don’t post anyone’s personal information. Abode may remove any post, and any listing can be reported for review.
Roommates and messages
Roommate profiles and messages are visible only to signed-in students at your school. Be respectful. You can block and report anyone.
Community rules: zero tolerance
By creating an account you agree to these rules. Abode has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don’t post or send:
- harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or slurs;
- sexual or violent content;
- discrimination in housing, including refusing or preferring people by race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or familial status;
- scams, fake listings, or requests for money before a place can be seen;
- spam, or other people’s personal information.
Posts are filtered automatically and reviewed by moderators. Use Report on any post, comment, sublease, roommate profile or message, and Block to stop a student from seeing your profile or contacting you. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or remove the accounts responsible.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Account & Privacy. That permanently removes your profile, photos, posts, matches and messages.
